What is this?

Hey Bloggers!!  Happy Friday :)  Well not Happy Friday to me since I've been stuck at the same weight since last Friday...sigh.  (I've decided that I'm only weighin' on Fridays)  I know that I'm not supposed to worry about weigh loss during this time but I can't help it!  I'm actually up .7 since I've been on mushies (3 days) but who's counting?? Of course I count the points when I'm down though LOL.  I've only walked 3 xs this week so I know I need to get that up.  I do pretty well on my water but I've always done well with that.  So is this typical?  The move from liquids to mushies is obviously more calories, but I was only taking in about 500-600 on liquids and now I'm ranging from 800-1000.  Did you hit a plateau during this transition?

In addition to that, I think I can feel my band now.  I don't know what it means, I guess this is the part where have to figure out what the signs are tellin' me.  It's like I can feel the food move through my band.  It doesn't hurt, it's just kinna uncomfortable.  Is this normal?  Am I taking too big of bites?  I can't imagine it's me not chewing my food well, since it basically disintegrates in my mouth right now.  Am I eating too fast?  Maybe it's just 'cause I'm still healing?  Do you even know what I'm talkin' about?

Insights...please.

  1. I hit a plateau around that time too. My body eventually adjusted. I didn't feel my band until after a few fills, but your doctor may have put in more during surgery.

  2. I hit a plateau at the same time too.. You are eating to fast. You "should" have a min between bites even if it's soup. I can usually get 30 seconds in but sometimes I rush but I usually end up getting stuck espically when you get more in your band. Keep the good work up.

  3. Hey there, new follower! I remember hitting a plateau at this point unfortunately. I didn't really start to lose more weight until I got my first fill. Its really frustrating because you lose a nice chunk during the pre-op liquid diet and then it slows right down =/ If you head over to my blog (http://banded-army-wife.blogspot.com/) you'll see where my weight actually went up during that phase! Hang in there chica! It'll take time to figure out! You got this!

  6. your gain could be from sodium intake - what type of foods are you eating?? salty mashed potatoes and stuff can really make you retain water. i can't remember how far post-op you are but you could still have some swelling around your band from surgery, they say it takes a couple months for that to truly go all the way away. hang in there!

  7. Hey trish, I only had mashed pot that one day, every other day ive had chix salad with ff mayo. And its chix I boiled myself, not canned. I use very little salt but do salt my veggies. I mainly have broccolli or green beans. Do you know how much is too much sodium? I know I never go over what myfitnesspal says but it also wants me to eat a lot more too lol.

  9. You can have swelling around the band and it is very possible to have restriction without a fill. I did not have my first fill for 13 months. Yes I lost 85 pounds without a blooming fill, now mind you that is rare, but it does happen. I have only had two fills in 4 years.
